CommNexus, a San Diego technology trade group, named 11 industry executives to its board of directors for the coming year.
The board chairperson is John Major, chairman of wireless chip maker Broadcom. Tami Erwin, West region president for Verizon Wireless, is vice chairperson. Other board officers are Steve Embry of PricewaterhouseCoopers as treasurer; Fred Muto of the law firm Cooley LLP as secretary; retired Navy vice admiral Walter Davis as head of organizational development; and Rory Moore, chief executive of CommNexus.
CommNexus runs a host of educational and market development events targeted toward San Diego tech firms. One of its top projects is the EvoNexus incubator, where start-up companies are offered free office space, mentoring and other services in the no-strings-attached program.
Additional board members include Don Abbey, executive vice president at CareFusion; George Cacioppo, vice president of Intuit; Tim Caulfield, chief executive of American Internet Services; Kate Collier, senior vice president of Bank of America; Michael Fuller, a partner with law firm Knobbe, Martens Olson & Bear; Tim Holl, a partner with Ernst & Young; David Marino, a principal with real estate firm Hughes Marino; David Martin, chief executive of Legend3D; Ron Nersesian, chief operating officer of Agilent Technologies; Arto Nummela, vice president of Nokia; and Naresh Soni, chief technical officer for Interdigital.
